Can you go in and out of breakout rooms in teams?
Participants can return to their assigned breakout room from the main meeting while the room is open by selecting 'Join room'. Note: It is not possible for participants to switch between breakout rooms unless the meeting organiser has assigned them a new room.
Upon hover, each participant will have the following options available: Assign To: Only available for unassigned participants, allows the host or co-host to assign the participant to a room. Move To: Click to move a participant to another available breakout room.
If you're already in a breakout room and you'd like to join a different one, refer back to the Breakout Rooms button in the meeting toolbar. You'll see a message above the button that says Choose a different breakout room. Select the Breakout Rooms button, and you'll be able to join a different room.
Click and drag any participant video to the location on screen you want. Continue as needed to achieve your desired on-screen order.
By clicking the number in the Breakout Room title bar, you can click/unclick participants. This will add or remove them from the room.
Participants will automatically move to their assigned breakout room. If a participant leaves their breakout room, the organizer can move the participant back to the breakout room by selecting the ellipses […] next to the participant's name and then selecting Ask to join.
You may be moved into your assigned breakout room as soon as the organizer opens the room. Otherwise, you'll receive an invitation to join the room. If you receive a notice, select Join room.
Breakout rooms allow a meeting organizer to split your attendees into multiple online rooms for discussion and collaboration in Teams. Meeting organizers who schedule a meeting can create breakout rooms in advance then pre-assign members to the breakout rooms.
As the host, you will not be sorted into one of the breakout rooms, and cannot hear what is being discussed in the Breakout Rooms. However, you can visit individual Breakout Rooms to check in on the discussions happening in a particular room.
By clicking on the black “View Options” tab at the top of your screen, you can switch to side-by-side mode to move the participant video panel to the side of the Zoom window.

Multiple people can record locally if allowed by the host. The host can designate one person in each breakout room to record locally and then share that file with the host after the meeting.
To allow participants to move freely between existing rooms without recreating them, click options (lower left corner of the Breakout Rooms window--if you closed it, click Breakout Rooms in the meeting ribbon controls to re-open the window) and check the box next to Allow participants to choose room.

The Host can move participants between breakout rooms while they are in rooms to mix up the discussion. The Host can end the breakout rooms, bringing all participants back to the main Zoom meeting. They can then send participants back to the same breakout groups or create new breakout groups.
External users cannot manage breakout room at this moment, they will need to join to the team and change their role to Presenter: Go to your Teams calendar and open the meeting invite. Go to Breakout rooms and select Room settings Settings button. Switch the Assign presenters to manage rooms toggle on.
Breakout room participants have full audio, video and screen sharing capabilities. The host of the meeting will not be assigned to a breakout room and cannot see or hear what is happening in the breakout rooms during the meeting.
If you scheduled recurring meetings, the pre-assigned breakout rooms will only work if it's applied to all meetings in the recurrence. You can't edit a single meeting in the recurrence and apply a unique pre-assignment.
The Microsoft Teams breakout rooms feature now enables co-organizers to create, manage and move between breakout rooms like meeting organizers. Co-organizers now can: Create rooms. Configure room settings, including appointing additional breakout room managers.

Can a host speak to everyone in breakout rooms?
The host can broadcast their voice to all breakout rooms, to share verbal information with all participants. Note: This must be enabled in your breakout room settings. In the meeting controls, click Breakout Rooms . Click Broadcast, and select Broadcast Voice.
Breakout rooms can only be created in meetings that have fewer than 300 attendees. In addition, creating breakout rooms in a meeting automatically limits the number of meeting attendees to 300. Advise your end-users to not initiate breakout rooms in meetings where they expect more than 300 participants.
The host of the meeting will not be assigned to a breakout room and cannot see or hear what is happening in the breakout rooms during the meeting. Also, the breakout rooms cannot hear or see what is happening in the other breakout rooms as well.
Hover over the participant name and select 'Move to' or 'Exchange' to amend participants in a room. Select 'Open All Rooms' when you are ready to start the breakout rooms.
